Gratitude, Blessings and Obedience

Hello every one

Given the shortage of time and what not this will be short.

First off, I am very grateful for the plan of salvation and the gospel in general. I have been studying the plan of salvation a lot recently, it touches everything. For me it is sad to talk to people, religious or not, that have no self worth or meaning in life. The plan of salvation is the answer to it, and families are eternal in it.

Yes, we had success, we were able to baptize several this week. Two of which were these young boys and they are a crack up. The whole family is awesome and I am excited to help the rest begin a testimony and hopefully one day be baptized.

Ocotal has been a fight, I have fought and clawed for the success we have had, but in the end it was nothing I did, it was all done by our Loving Heavenly Father.

I am not accomplishing what I thought I would on my mission. I am accomplishing something more profound and beautiful than what I thought. I am refining myself and learning more of Christ. Something I hadn't fully considered before.

I love seeing people progress more, but I LOVE TEACHING.

What I took away from this week was that I must trust more in God in my labors. I was trying to shoulder too much of the load on myself, something that was unnecessary. I learned a little more how to rely on the Spirit and the Atonement of Christ more.

Obedience is the one true test of this life, when we are obedient we can receive all the blessings our Heavenly Father wants to give us. Obedience brings blessings but Exact Obedience brings miracles. The biggest miracle is that we will become, one day, the heirs of eternal life.

I love you all so much, need not worry for me!

PS, prayers for my sweet Great Grandma Letha, her husband of almost 70 years, my Great Grandpa, passed away this week. Love you Grandma and Grandpa.

Happy Easter

So this week was pretty dope. Capped it off today as we climbed to a watchtower to look over all the valley where good ole Ocotal lays. It was breathtaking but made me very trunky as I wanted to be home elk hunting or hiking up in Oregon.

As for the work, we are seeing many miracles and having random members from other parts of Nicaragua or Honduras bring us people and we teach them and baptize them.

We have been working quite some time with one guy and his companion, Santos and Jorlin. They are both very humble and kind. When we first found him they were separated due to his addiction to every bad and wicked thing under the sun. But since then they are back together, and strengthening their relationship and he only smokes 2 cigarettes a day. He has dropped marijuana, alcohol, coffee, and other substances. They are fighting hard and winning and it is a huge testimony to me to see the courage and faith these two people have. I am very grateful to know them. They live in a shack with mismatched pieces of wood for walls and whatnot, but that, I have learned, is not what is important in life. What is important is people and our relationship with our Savior.

I love this gospel and this work.

Love you all Love Elder Morrison

A wedding, baptisms and waterfalls

Hello Everyone,

This week was awesome. We were able to marry and baptize a family of gold, they are such a sweet family. The baptisms were super cool! They asked me to do it under a waterfall. It was literally one of the top 10 moments of my life. I baptized the son, then his dad and then his mom. After I baptized the mom the dad jumped from the rock where he was watching and I have never seen two people happier in my life!!
The father is like the super sweet uncle in the family, everyone loves him.

Like wise changes came and went. Elder Aybar and I are staying to see what damage we can do here for 6 more weeks, which I am super pumped about because him and I are finding our rhythm.

As for me, I am doing superb. Hopefully we will baptized another lady this week, she is super awesome. Her husband is an inactive from Honduras but when his mom came she drug them to church and now his wife is hooked and we will try to baptize her!!

We are seeing the fruits of our labors, which is a wonderful thing and I am loving it!!

Love you all,

8 months= 1/3 done!!

To The World,

Today my journey here in Nicaragua reaches the official 8 month mark, I am one third done. Which feels weird, I have spent my whole life dreaming of this mission and it is going by too fast!! But that is because I am enjoying the mission, even though even when I sit inside I have drops of sweat rolling down my whole body and pooling in my seat.. summer in Nicaragua is in full force and glory!!

This morning we climbed up a mountain to a cross before daylight and enjoyed the sunrise, because me and Elder Campbell, one of the other missionaries here in Ocotal and a stud missionary, and I have our cumplemes today. It was gorgeous.

Likewise I will endorse Nike socks, my angel mother put together a divinely inspired package and my feet are improving vastly both in general discomfort and the many fungal infections I am fighting, and she sent me foot cream. And I got some Twix and some pictures of beautiful and white family and friends!! Love you all!! and I am not racist, but you are all super white!! I love Oregon and its rain!

This week we found much success. We baptized one or two or three this week, si dios quiere. We have some super sweet and amazing families we are teaching. Teaching families is way cool, especially teaching about temples. Speaking of temples we were convinced that Nicaragua temple was gonna be announced but congrats to the other places, temples are amazing and I miss them so much. I received much personal revelation from general conference and it is such a wonder to be able to listen to the words of living prophets.

Changes come this next weekend we will see if I stay or if I go. I have no idea. I don't know, if I stay it would be cool, we would baptize many here, I have found some dope people.

Love you all so much,
Love Elder Morrison
